"Do I want her, or do I want to be her?"

The Admirer is surrounded by amazing, wonderful people who inspire them by being themselves, but doesn't yet have a strong sense of self. Their central conflict is distinguishing between self-discovery and budding feelings.

Despite the name, the Admirer is not about being in romantic love. The Admirer is all about seeing what's good or cool or interesting about other people, and trying it out for themself. It also asks what it is that draws them to those traits in others — is it admiration or attraction?

With the Admiration mechanic, the Admirer takes on and tries out moves based on those that inspire them. With each use of an Homage move, the Admirer learns more about who they want to be.

Ultimately the Admirer playbook is about experimentation and self-discovery. By embracing what it is about others that fascinates or inspires them, new ways of being open up to them.

This playbook is a stand-out auto-include for TSL. The way the temporary Admiration/Homage moves build upon the Smitten mechanic and the journey of Self-Discovery really connect the mechanics and the metaphor of Thirsty Sword Lesbians in a way that sings!

Aw, thank you so much for trying out the playbook, and taking the time to leave this lovely review! 💜
